Educational content built the authority the product needed.
Careers with Mary began as an answer to the same question arriving in my inbox every week: how do I actually get a remote role. Instead of replying privately, I started teaching publicly. The content encouraged people to take their professional development seriously, and over time it built the authority that made everything else possible.
The insight
People were not short of ambition, they were short of clarity. They did not know how to describe their own work, what a strong resume looked like or how to prepare for an interview with a global employer. Clarity was the product.
What I made
More than 100 career development articles, short form video across Instagram and TikTok, resume templates, interview frameworks and free reviews. Every piece answered one specific question and ended with something the reader could act on that day.
Building authority
The audience grew past 150,000 organically because the advice worked and people said so publicly. Authority did not come from claiming expertise, it came from a steady record of people getting results and coming back to share them.
Why it mattered commercially
That trust became the acquisition engine for Inclusively Remote. Readers who had already been helped for free were the people who subscribed, referred others and stayed. Teaching first is the reason the platform scaled with nothing spent on advertising.
What people said afterwards
